M.Tech. in Power System is one of the traditional specialization of the Electrical Engineering which deals with the study and application of electricity and electronics. Masters in Power System is a two-year postgraduate program imparting basic knowledge in main disciplines such as power system stability, transmission and distribution, economic load dispatch, distribution system planning, control systems, communications, power generation, renewable energy sources, electrical machines, etc.

COER University offers M.Tech in Power System that defines an advanced age of hardware, software, and networks that connect physical infrastructure with analytical computing systems. This programme offers state-of-art technical training in power grids and economic, societal, and cultural factors to prepare students for future challenges, preserving the total energy chain. The power system course curriculum of the programme enables students to fulfill the global competency in industry and academia. It offers the ideal combination of academic and practical knowledge, thereby making an environment with endless knowledge.

The candidate must have completed graduation under in any relevant engineering stream, securing at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate, from a recognized university.

(i) ETAP: ETAP stand for Electrical Transient and Analysis Program. It is the most comprehensive analysis platform for the design, simulation, operation, and automation of generation, distribution, and industrial power systems.

(ii) PSCAD: PSCAD (Power Systems Computer Aided Design) is a powerful and flexible graphical user interface to the world- renowned, EMTDC electromagnetic transient simulation engine.

(iii) MATLAB: MATLAB is a programming and numeric computing platform used by millions of engineers and scientists to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models.

(iv) GAMES Software: Mainly used to evaluate the power flow between the power system buses.
