B.Voc (OTT)

The Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) degree program in Operating Theatre Technician (OTT) is a professional course designed to provide students with comprehensive training and hands-on experience in operation theatre technology. This is a three-year duration program at COER University and is offered in collaboration with VIROHAN.

The B.Voc. degree program in OTT combines theoretical coursework with practical training to prepare students for a career in the healthcare industry as operation theatre technicians. The curriculum of this program covers a range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, OT drugs and equipment, surgical procedures, anesthesia, and patient care. Students also learn about infection control, sterilization techniques, emergency procedures, and intensive care.

In addition to classroom lectures and laboratory sessions, the B.Voc. program in OTT also includes up to 18 months of internship training. Students gain hands-on experience in preparing patients for surgery, assisting surgeons and nurses during surgeries, preparing surgical instruments and equipment, and monitoring patient vital signs.

 
Upon completion of the B.Voc. degree program in OTT, graduates can pursue careers as operation theatre  technicians, surgical technologists, or anesthesia technicians in hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare settings. They may also have the option to become a trainer/educator or specialize in a particular area, such as cardiovascular surgery or neurosurgery, through additional training and certifications.
