Conferences

At UETR, we believe that theoretical knowledge learnt in a classroom is not enough to become a well-rounded graduate. To be able to tackle the professional world with ease and tact, it is crucial to gain perspective and practical familiarity.

To that end, UETR has held a plethora of workshops, conferences, seminars and training sessions to help our students gain practical knowledge and professional insight from people who have experience and prominence in their fields.

Consistent and diverse research and development (R&D) activities are crucial to a well-rounded academic life. To this end, the initiatives of University of Engineering and Technology, Roorkee are always in line with this objective – we pursue knowledge through various programs aimed at developing and training highly skilled and technically adept graduates. Research activities are conducted collaboratively in our Expert Research Groups and at the UETR funded Centres of Excellence, with much of our research activities being sponsored by the government, along with various industries themselves. Therefore, students and faculty are encouraged to write research papers and file patents, while being backed by our intellectual property rights cell and funded through the university itself. UETR’s research vision and strategy leans towards advancing knowledge, improving our world and shaping the future. Therefore, multi-disciplinary research is key to address the diverse, complex and demanding problems of today’s society – scientific and technological innovation has always created social and economic transformation.

UETR relies on National Policy of Education-2020 as a guideline for the framework for a cohesive, comprehensive and complete curriculum. The programs of study are designed with a focus on:

  • Continuous practical skill gain throughout the duration of study.
  • Rigorous and streamlined industrial internship slots in each year of study
  • Course-specific and research-centric teaching modules that are offered from the get-go to ensure that at the end of each year, the student acquires applicable knowledge
  • A choice-based credit system that allows a student to pursue subjects of his/her choice from a wide range of electives.
  • Multi-entry-multi-exit flexibility that allows a student, in special circumstances, to discontinue and re-join after a stipulated gap period. The facility of archiving students’ grades in an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) allows the student to continue from right where they left.
  • Global exposure through multiple international partner universities
